H1N1 INFO! Good luck getting your 2nd H1N1 vaccine booster shot...

This excerpt is from an article on MSNBC's site explaining how parents are going to be hard-pressed to find the second dose of H1N1 vaccine their kids need to be protected.  I find this to be disturbing.  How is the production going so slowly that we are so far behind, especially knowing that...

"After a single dose of vaccine, only 55 percent of children ages 3 to 9 developed enough immune response within 21 days to protect them fully against the H1N1 flu. After a second dose, 94 percent were protected.

Among the youngest children, those ages 6 months to 35 months, only 25 percent posted a strong enough response after just one dose."

HEALTH! Difference in food dyes here and in the UK! Why?

I found this nice little gem today regarding food dyes.  As we know, artficial food dyes are no good for us, especially kids.  If it has the name of a color and a number, e.g., Yellow 5 or Red 3, it's bad.  The UK and many other countries have banned these types of dyes in their foods.  If companies are already making natural dye products for other countries, WHY are they still using artificial dyes in foods they produce for the United States?  See this link for more info and a direct comparison of a product that I'm sure many of us have eaten.  Annoying.
