HEALTH! Difference in food dyes here and in the UK! Why?

I found this nice little gem today regarding food dyes.  As we know, artficial food dyes are no good for us, especially kids.  If it has the name of a color and a number, e.g., Yellow 5 or Red 3, it's bad.  The UK and many other countries have banned these types of dyes in their foods.  If companies are already making natural dye products for other countries, WHY are they still using artificial dyes in foods they produce for the United States?  See this link for more info and a direct comparison of a product that I'm sure many of us have eaten.  Annoying.

H1N1 INFO! Get educated on the differences in the 4 vaccines...

H1N1... here is some info for you.  We had a great discussion going over on another FB page.  Leave your comments... Will you be getting your kids the H1N1 vaccine?

Here's a link to all of the ingredient listings. There are 4 different vaccines from 4 different companies. What is in it depends on which vaccine you get. You should be able to ask your doc or the clinic you go to which vaccine they are using. The important things to look for that are questionable are the adjuvant (squaline) and thimerosal.

And here is a simpler explanation of the differences between the 4 vaccines...

FREE! Full-day supply of baby formula!

As you know, baby formula is one of the most highly regulated products out there.  If you're used to using only brand name products, and don't want to spend the money on a whole can of store brand formula, I have a deal for you...

CLICK HERE for a free sample of Parent's Choice formula (sold at Wal-Mart).  You can choose from their cow's milk-based, gentle, or immunity-boosting formula.  I tried for all three (!) and they sent me the cow's milk one, so if you really want one of the others, just sign up for the one.

Enjoy!  And if you like it, know that it is HALF what you pay for the brand names!

To parents and anyone who likes to read thoughtful prose...

My good friend Lisa from college has been writing a stellar blog about all things parenting- and life-related for a while now.  She is a professional writer with regular pieces in national parenting, wedding, travel, and other assorted magazines.  She and her husband have two gorgeous daughters that they adopted from China, so she is an expert (in my opinion) on adoption.

I'm sure I will post this again as my readership increases, but there is no need to delay my strong recommendation that you check out her blog, The Mamahood.  Even my husband reads it regularly... maybe that's why he's such a great dad.  :-)

Visit often or subscribe to her feed... you will not regret her few-times-a-week doses of mama-wisdom!

CLICK HERE to head over to The Mamahood... you'll be glad you did!

Come along and follow me...

This blog is all about what makes me happy! Family, friends, fun, stuff I like, and good deals I find online. Okay, maybe it's mostly going to be about the deals and stuff I like, but I have to pepper a little Chelsea in, too!

People always ask me how I get my magazines so cheap, how I knew about the free ice cream giveaway, and how I can leave The Children's Place with 35 items of clothing for $42.10. I'll share things that I find and things that I like, and hopefully someone else might find them interesting, too!

Come along and check stuff out with me!
